After leaving the moonshiner I met up with the Athens underground crew. A friend of mine named Yana invited me to go see the beating heart of Athens. It was so much different than what the international news was portraying it. When I got there, the government fired the municipal police. Which means no police for anything other than serious crimes. Park your car anywhere. We got pulled over by the police in front of a local hang out. The people were so mad that they told the police to leave, and they did even though we were going the wrong way on a one-way street. In Athens and in Greece people stand up for what they believe. They feel that they are all connected. There is so much expression coming out of there. From the street art, writers, creatives, music, the city is alive. The underground has a lot to say about what is going on.
